Precision machining firm, Sinfin (30 users, 24-hour shop floor)
- The challenge
- CNC controllers running unsupported Windows versions on the same flat network as office PCs, with a phishing incident that had already reached one machine operator's mailbox.
- What we did
- Network segmentation isolating the shop floor from office IT, outbound restrictions on controller traffic, email filtering with impersonation protection, and phishing simulation training for all staff.
- The outcome
- A compromised office mailbox can no longer reach production systems, and reported phishing attempts rose sharply as staff learned what to look for.
